Interesting in learning about ceramics?
This beginner friendly class will cover the fundamentals of hand building clay through pinch-pots, coil, slab construction, and glazing. Students will craft a couple of pieces a session, work with them over the drying cycle and through two firings, and get to take home their pieces. No prior experience is necessary!
These classes will take place over a 4-week period starting May 2nd and going each Saturday until May 23rd. Each class will be from 2:00p - 5:00p at the Makerspace (located at 1225 Laurel St. in the basement level, park near the awning on the side of the building where you will see a sign for the Cola Makerspace). This even is open to the public, including non-members of the Makerspace (though members get notified early about these classes before they are advertised publicly). We are planning on doing ceramics classes on a more regular cadence, so if this one fills up, another one will open up in about a month or so.
